Great geomorphologic units.
In the region of Buenos Aires there are three main geomorphologic units. They
are the Pampean Plain, with a riverside landscape carved into the Pampean
Sediments deposited by the wind in the Undulating Pampa; an Estuary Plain,
as a strip on the coast and whose shapes refer to accumulation environments;
and the River Paraná Delta, formed by river sediments.
Each of these units is divided into several smaller sub-units,
representing different geomorphic environments. These sub-units, marked on
the geomorphologic map with symbols (that can be found in the corresponding
SIG map) can be easily identified both in rural and urban areas, although
they are generally covered in the latter.
